As we arrived at the railway station and waited for our train, there was a sense of excitement among passengers. Local families, foreign travellers, photographers and adventure seekers were all preparing for the same incredible journey.
When the train finally arrived, we found our seats and eagerly waited for the adventure to begin. As the train slowly moved away from Kandy station, the busy city gradually disappeared and the peaceful beauty of Sri Lanka's hill country began to appear.

For my family, especially the children, sitting by the window and watching the changing landscapes was an exciting experience. They enjoyed seeing the villages, farms, mountains and trains passing through tunnels.

One of the highlights of the journey is travelling through Sri Lanka's world famous tea growing region. Sri Lanka, formerly known as Ceylon is famous worldwide for its high quality tea.
