My Journey Through the Land of Ravana, Sita and Hanuman During my visits to Sri Lanka, I had the opportunity to explore some of the most fascinating places connected with the legendary stories of King Ravana, Princess Sita, Lord Rama and Hanuman . Each journey took me through breathtaking landscapes, from the mist covered mountains of the central highlands to the ancient temples and beautiful coastal regions of the island. To explore the legendary Ramayana Trail, I travelled across several regions of Sri Lanka, including Ella, Nuwara Eliya, the North Western Province and the island's southern coast. Magnificent Granite Sigiriya Rock A Dream Journey to the Lion Rock During our December holiday in Sri Lanka, one destination was at the top of my 9 year old son’s wish list Sigiriya Rock Fortress . He had heard fascinating stories about this ancient wonder and was extremely curious to see it with his own eyes. His biggest dream was to climb all the way to the top by himself and discover the mysterious ruins hidden above the clouds. Our journey to Sigiriya began in Kandy, where we first visited the magnificent Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, one of the most sacred Buddhist sites in Sri Lanka.
